How to get there

Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia all fly direct to the Mackay Airport and the Whitsunday Coast Airport from Brisbane with daily connections to all major Australian cities. TigerAir flies direct from Melbourne and Sydney to Mackay airport several times a week. The airports are just a 50 minute drive from the retreat. Both airports have Avis, Budget, Hertz and Europcar hire cars available. We also recommend limousine hire through 'Get Hummered' and Whitsunday Limousines. We also offer a courtesy pick up and drop off service for our guests for both airports, bus and rail connections. Please let us know your requirements at the time of booking.

DIRECTIONS FROM MACKAY AIRPORT

  • From the Mackay Airport follow the signs to the Bruce Highway
  • Take the Bruce Highway north towards Proserpine.
  • Approximately 30 km north of Mackay you go through the village of Kuttabul.
  • Approximately 2km north of Kuttabul you cross over Palmtree Creek and past a vehicle rest area.
  • Look for “The Feathered Nest” signage on the left hand side at the highway turnoff.
  • Turn left off the highway onto Geeberga - Buthurra Road.
  • Continue west for 2.7 km then turn left onto Royston Park Drive.
  • You will see “The Feathered Nest” signage at the turnoff.
  • Continue 1.25 km on Royston Park Drive and you will see “The Feathered Nest - Luxury Wildlife Retreat” on the left hand side of the road at the entrance to the property.
  • Drive up the driveway to reception at the big house.

DIRECTIONS FROM WHITSUNDAY COAST AIRPORT

  • From the Whitsunday Coast Airport turn right onto the Bruce Highway travelling south towards Mackay.
  • Continue for 69 km and go past the village of Mt Ossa.
  • Continue south for a further 15 km and look for “The Feathered Nest” signage on the right hand side at the highway turnoff.
  • Turn right off the highway onto Geeberga - Buthurra Road.
  • Continue west for 2.7 km then turn left onto Royston Park Drive. You will see The Feathered Nest signage at the turnoff.
  • Continue 1.25 km on Royston Park Drive and you will see The Feathered Nest Luxury Wildlife Retreat on the left hand side of the road at the entrance to the property.
